Sheffield General Cemetery Womens Tour

As part of the Nether Edge Festival, join Sheffield General Cemetery Trust for a special Women’s Tour, exploring the lives of women – rich and poor – who are buried in, or connected to, the Cemetery.

At Sheffield General Cemetery, the Trust is committed to sharing hidden histories and amplifying voices that have too often been overlooked. On this Guided Tour, uncover stories of resilience, struggle and achievement, shining a light on women’s lived experiences across different eras of Sheffield’s past. From those who challenged social expectations to those who quietly endured them, these stories offer a powerful reminder of why women’s histories matter – and why we must continue listening, learning and advocating for change.

After the tour, join us in the Samuel Worth Chapel for a complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate or soft drink. Our café and bookstall will be open from 11.00am–3.30pm, and our book A Woman’s Place, which complements the tour, will be available to purchase on the day or online beforehand.

Tickets: £8.50 + Booking fee
